Let's increase the civilization pace: Start commuting by air.

Hi honey, would you like to spend the night on a cabin in the Sequoia National Park with the kids? sure,

let´s go, just let me prepare the kids school kit for tomorrow.
The family of four, took the elevator going up in direction to the parking lot ( yes, going up)
They sat comfortably in their Tesla flying car, the android pilot kindly requested  the destination site and set the course.

The catapult system launched the flying car in a smooth way, leaving behind it ( bellow it?) the building located at W sunset Blvd, Santa Monica- California-USA.

Seventy five minutes later ( 800 Kw later ?) the family were happily dining at a beautiful cabin under the beautiful giant sequoia shadow and with the warm of a great fire place.
Next day, they leave their kids at 8:30 am in their school and  went to their work places as usual.

Commuting by air will have a huge impact in the urban landscape, will enhance the citizen's horizon ,will reduce time travel,will increase the quality of live and will impact the human psyche profoundly.
The city green areas will be dramatically increased, since air commuting will allow to use a bigger area for the same amount of travel time, it is like if you daily current time space universe were multiplied by hundred and get super sized without time sacrifice.

Well, everybody pretty much accepts that air commuting will be part of the human kind future, but the question is, why not to start commuting by air right away?

Perhaps we already have the technology, my suggestion is to use the current aircraft carrier technology in order to place a similar system in a smaller scale on the top of the skyscrapers to start jumping between skyscrapers , breaking the inertia and accelerating the urban flying learning experience.

The key factor in the aircraft carrier take off system, is the steam catapult, that allows to launch the aircrafts using a reduced runway in a very efficient way. Applying this military concept into an urban enviroment with the purpose to create a catapult-landing nodal system as a part of the smart city is the idea behind it.

Finally, the most important effect of the air commuting era, will be in the human psyche whose horizon will be expanded as well.
